marriage is weird.
at least most of the goofy stuff leading-up to it. and weddings...forget about 'em. if i had my way, i would elope.
no worries, friends, i'm not engaged yet, but it's coming. and it is exciting.
NOT THE WEDDING BUT THE MARRIAGE.
i have a friend right now who is not even engaged & she is picking out bridesmaid dresses, putting together her guest list and making her invitations.
i'm sorry, but i think this is lame.
i know some really great people who planned ahead for their weddings, before engagement, for ease. i can understand this ONE reason.
it's depressing to me that so many people get caught-up in the theatrics of the big day. it reminds me all too much of 'keeping up with the jones'
but hey, they probably think i'm crazy that i want to have my special day in my friend's backyard & have a potluck.
honest truth: i don't want to have to think about any of it. if i could hire someone to put it all together, i would. is the wedding for the couple or everyone else that comes and witnesses the big day? j. & i are still trying to figure out a healthy balance.
